"Snakes ‘n Scales and Turtle Tales" are education-oriented live animal presentations for children and adults with an emphasis on learning through enjoyment.

KINGDOM OF THE COLDBLOODS

There is an alien world near to our own, where feeling cold means being coldwhere a sunny day means you may eat, but a rainy one means you go hungry. A world where creatures possess incredible strength, breathe without oxygen, see without eyes. This is the kingdom of the coldbloods, the domain of amphibians and reptiles.

THE GOOD, THE ICKY AND THE SLIMY

Separate the truth from the myths about some of the world’s most misunderstood animals, insects, spiders, scorpions, snails, salamanders, and snakes. Are all spiders poisonous? Can roaches survive six months without food? Are snakes really slimy?

THE STRANGE WORLD OF REPTILES

Snakes, lizards, turtles and crocodilians are the four most common types of reptiles. This program explores the lives of these scaly creatures. Compare the ones that might live under your porch to the ones from far off continents.

EXTINCTION IN THE TROPICAL RAINFOREST

Meet the reptiles and amphibians that are trying to survive the changes in the tropical rainforest environment. Learn about the habitat crisis that is threatening so many species.

HERPS NOW

For the more advanced group, "Herps Now" explores the biology and ecology of this group of animals. Examine the physiology, predator/prey relationships, evolution, and current status.

BILL’S FACINATING SNAKES

Imagine never closing your eyes, holding your breath for half an hour with only one lung, shedding your skin or eating a meal that weighs as much as you do! All just a day in the life of a snake…
