Wild New JerseyLynda
Hester D'Orio is an award-winning television
producer, director and writer who resides in Northern New
Jersey.
Her
interest in environmental preservation and wild animals
is non-political, she considers herself an advocate. She
is hopeful that, as an Editor of the Wild New Jersey
Internet site, she helps to create a place for children
and adults to find information and enlightenment that are
not often brought to the forefront of the news.
She
welcomes comments and suggestions for links that can help
these causes. She believes in the power of individuals to
contribute to their communities, their state and their
planet to preserve the natural eco-systems that sustain
our biodiversity.
"Biodiversity
understands no borders or boundaries," says Lynda.
"The current philosophy of success in preserving
animals and plants that are threatened or endangered lies
in education and advocacy. We must create a balance
between the need for commercial land development and the
necessity of preserving all natural resources. We might
be saving the plant that carries a cure for cancer, or
the animal that is the key to a vaccine, or the only link
in a chain that can keep our air and water purified. The
more you learn, the more you realize the importance of
these issues and how much one individual can contribute
to make a change."
