The 10 Most Beautiful Places in New Jersey From the elegant architecture of an Ivy League campus to the natural splendor of a waterfall in the middle of a city, the Garden State boasts glorious sites you won't find anywhere else. Photographs and text by Walter Choroszewski As a photographer of New Jersey scenes, I'm often asked, "What is the most beautiful place in New Jersey?" My preferences lean toward the natural, especially settings featuring water, but I also very much enjoy locations filled with history or adorned with fine architecture. New Jersey is a highly populated state, yet there are numerous scenic locales--both natural and man-made--woven through it. For that reason, there really isn't one special place that is the fairest in the land. The following, however, is my top-ten list of beautiful locations in the Garden State. I hesitated to include many of the places on this list because of their fragile ecosystems. I would not want to transform them into must-see tourist stops. When visiting, please stay on the designated pathways and be very mindful of their endangered status. The vegetation should remain undisturbed (even climbing the rocks damages the moss and lichens). These are truly among the last remaining natural wonders of our state. Please help to preserve them for future generations.
